Modernized Text

Thy name, Lord, earth's power excels;
Thy throne the highest orbs surround;
The infant's mouth thy prayses tell;
A power which enemies confound
When well thy works my soul had weighed.
How moon and stars obey thee yet
As when at first their course was set,
Rap't in wonder admiring, said:

What is this man, this piece of earth,
Thou showest this care and mind of him?
To angels [he]'s made not much beneath
With glorious title [thou]'s crowned him,
As lord of this vast frame set o'er;
All here below thy hands hath made
Under his feet has subjected laid,
Ox, sheep and what the fields hath more,
Air stored wth fowl, innumerable fish,
That through the waving seas do swim.
Thy bounty hath bestowed on him:
To exalt his name how just it is.
