How can I want the Lord my sheapard seemes
Who to the verdant pasturs leads me outt
By flowry bankes wher waters gently streams
My soule he doth refresh he sets my foot
In paths of truth & eaqual Justice both
This only for his owne name sake he doth
Although I through death shady vale Idoe goe
No terrors ther shal makes me yitt affraid
His rods my guide his staff my strenght also
Before myn enimys foes my table he doth spread
Wth oyle my head full cups my hart doth chere
Him in his house foreuer Ile serue & feare ther
How can I want? The Lord my shepherd seems,
Who to the verdant pastures leads me out
By flow'ry banks where waters gently stream.
My soul he doth refresh; he sets my foot
In paths of truth and equal justice both.
This only for his own name's sake he doth.
Although I through death's shady vale do go,
No terrors there shall make me yet afraid.
His rod's my guide, his staff my strength also.
Before mine foes my table he doth spread;
With oil my head, full cups my heart doth cheer.
Him in his house for ever I'll serve there.
