Transcription

When clouds of trouble about thee gather
The god of Jacob be thy protector
And He from his presence send to thee thether
Helpe out of Zion & be thy directer
Thyn vows & offriengs let him call to mind
And And thy burnt sacrifice acceptance find

What thou conceauest may't inacted be
The counsels of thy hart let him fulfill
Then shall we reioyce in thy victory
And Trophys raise to his name then we will
For Nowt'is for thyn anoynted now sake we see
Thou wth thy sauing hand will sett him free

Some trust in ther chariots trust trust in horses some
We in the Lord, yitt no false trust will mixe
Some we doe see fall others to ruing come
But we as on a Rock our standing fixe
Lord let thy Kingly powre here then apeare
And to our iust complaints, then ô gently heare

Modernized Text

When clouds of trouble about thee gather,
The god of Jacob be thy protector.
He from his presence send to thee hither
Help out of Zion and be thy director.
Thine vows and offerings let him call to mind,
And thy burnt sacrifice acceptance find.

What thou conceavest may't enacted be;
The counsels of thy heart let him fulfil.
Then shall we rejoice in thy victory,
And trophies raise to his name then we will.
Now t'is for thine annointed sake we see
Thou with thy saving hand will set him free.

Some in ther chariots trust, in horses some:
We in the Lord, yet no false trust will mix.
Some we see fall, others to ruin come,
But we as on a rock our standing fix.
Lord, let thy kingly power here then appear,
And to our just complaints, oh gently hear.
